SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Day 1: PARIS Arrival, transfer from airport to hotel. Enjoy a panoramic tour of Paris to discover of all the main sights and attractions on the left and right banks of Paris: Opéra Garnier, Place Vendôme, Notre Dame Cathedral, Place de la Bastille, the Louvre Museum, Madeleine Church, Place de la Concorde, Champs-Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, Trocadéro, Eiffel Tower & Invalides. Day 2: PARIS (MACARONS TRADITION & SEINE CRUISE DINNER) Breakfast and departure for a full day admiring the beauty and tasting the flavors of Paris. Discover the Carrousel du Louvre and take a few minutes to admire the majestic architecture of the museum, one of the largest in the world. During this 2 hour tour you will discover Rembrandt, David, Delacroix, and marvel at Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milos and Géricault’s The Raft of the Medusa among many others masterpieces. (not available on Tuesdays). Afterwards enjoy a gourmet tour in Paris. Stroll through the medieval part of the Latin Quarter, a friendly upscale neighborhood famous for its large selection of quality food boutiques. You’ll embark on a walk rich in both flavors and history, with tasting stops to introduce you to the French gourmandise and stories about the centuries-old neighborhood. The visit includes a tasting of foie gras, wine, cheese, bread and french macaron. Transfer back to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy Paris by night. Board for a cruise and dinner on the Seine River. Day 3: PARIS – DIJON (FRENCH MUSTARD) Breakfast and departure to Paris Gare de Lyon for TGV train to Dijon (approx 1h40ms). Pick up at Dijon train station and lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards enjoy a panoramic tour of the city to discover the richness and elegance of its architecture heritage from the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy to the neighbourhood of Parliament, and from the area of Notre Dame to the medieval streets. Finally enjoy a special Dijon’s Mustard tasting, a very typical product of the city. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at your hotel. Meals: B, L, D |
Day 4: DIJON – CÔTE DE BEAUNE ( WINE TRADITION & TASTING) – DIJON Breakfast and departure to Côte de Beaune vineyards. Start a trip around Pommard and the ‘Golden Triangle’ of Burgundy’s Great White Wines: Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne- Montrachet. Enjoy the visit and wine tasting at Chateau Pommard. Lunch at a vineyard restaurant. Your tour continue with another private visit and wine tasting at Chateau de Meursault, followed by a prestige wine tasting at Ludivine Griveau, Mathieu Bouchard & Frédéric Hirault. Settled in the historic center of Beaune, Pierre Mayeul is the union of three wine experts, passionate about Burgundy and with an impressive collective experience in the wine industry. The team includes Ludivine Griveau, winemaker of the legendary Hospices de Beaune. They aim to create wines that respect the art of wine making and honor the local terroir. During your visit you will discover the ancient cellars where wines gently mature before bottling. You will also explore a selection of wines from growers that share Pierre Mayeul’s rigorous quality requirements and that express Burgundy’s beautiful mosaic of climats. Back to your hotel in Dijon. Day 5: DIJON – CÔTE DE NUITS (WINE TRADITION & TASTING) – DIJON Breakfast and departure to the heart of the Pinot Noir Grands Crus vineyards, The Burgundy “Champs-Elysées” : Vosne-Romanée, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny. Your tour start by a Prestige tasting in a private wine cellar offering a selection of Burgundy’s wines from the five Burgundy vineyards: Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, Mâconnais and Chablis. The wines are selected through blind tastings on quality and price criteria. They offer a range of great Burgundy wines at the best price. The selection panel is made up of local professionals, experienced in Burgundy wines: sommelier, winegrowers, wine estate owners and negociants. For lunch, the Domain Jean Louis Trapet at Gevrey Chambertin welcomes you for an outstanding meal. Delicious dishes, an amazing setting and of course prestigious wines are on program! Relaxing afternoon around the vineyards: castles, Romanesque churches, wine making villages. Follow the trail of the Cistercian monks at the Château du Clos de Vougeot. Discover the ancient wine making facilities and the monk’s cellar, constructed between the 12th and 16th centuries. Your tour end by an Exclusive tasting of a range of vintages (red wines) at Jean-Claude Boisset estate (or similar).This wine merchant in the heart of the Côte de Nuits sits in a privileged spot right next to the renowned vineyards of the Chateau du Clos de Vougeot. It is in fact housed in the original out buildings of a former palace (stables, conservatory etc.), built in 1632 and then rebuilt in 1938. You can explore the original cellars from 1632, which were previously the cellars of the palace itself. La Grande Cave de Vougeot proposes a great selection of wines from most of Burgundy’s appellations. Back to Dijon. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at your hotel. Meals: B, L, D |
Day 6: DIJON – SARLAT IN PERIGORD Breakfast and departure to Sarlat in Perigord. On the way enjoy the visit and wine tasting at Chateau de Chamirey estate in the Chalonnais. Transfer to Sarlat -La-Caneda an exceptionally well preserved city. More than 1,000 years of architecture live in its lanes, roof-tiles and stonewalls. The exceptional number of buildings registered or classified as historical monuments make Sarlat one of the most important European cities in terms of cultural heritage. Day 7: SARLAT IN PERIGORD – SAINT-EMILION (HISTORIC VINEYARD) – BORDEAUX Breakfast and morning time at leisure to discover Sarlat through its gastronomy as it is the capital of an exceptional “terroir”. Aftewards transfer to St Emilion, medieval city, UNESCO world heritage site and one of the centres of Bordeaux wine-making. Saint-Emilion is an outstanding example of an historic vineyard landscape that has survived intact and is in activity to the present day. First stop at Chateau Ferrand where you will enjoy 2 hours visit and have the opportunity to do a blending workshop to make your own wine and learn about wine-making. Buffet lunch at the Chateau Ferrand. Continue with one visit and wine tasting at a Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion vineyards and the last visit in the Pomerol Appellation. Day 8: BORDEAUX – MEDOC VINEYARDS – BORDEAUX Breakfast and departure to Medoc region, the most famous of the Bordeaux vineyards which lies to the North-West of Bordeaux city, a vast spit of land between the Atlantic Ocean to the West and the Gironde Estuary to the East. A geographical location that confers on it a temperate climate suited to wine-growing. This symbiosis of plant and environment has given 60 prestigious Grand Crus Classés and 400 Crus Bourgeois in the 8 AOC of the Médoc. During your tour you will have three visits and wine tastings at prestigious vineyards and wineries in Pauillac, Margaux & Saint-Estephe wine appellations of Grand Cru Classe. Lunch in a Chateau Phelan Segur to discover the Médoc gastronomy. Transfer back to your hotel. Dinner in a fine local restaurant walking distance from your hotel. Overnight in your hotel.
