SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Day 1: ZAGREB Arrival, transfer from airport to hotel. Enjoy a special city tour of Zagreb, an old Central European city, with its Baroque atmosphere in the Lower town, picturesque open-air markets and great shopping. Take in sights like Roosevelt Square, Ban Jelacic Square , Dolac Market and Zagreb Cathedral. Go back in time to the Middle Ages with a stroll through the upper town to Croatian Parliament, St Mark’s Church, Kamenita Vrata or Stone Gate, and the ancient Lotrscak Tower. Dinner at a typical restaurant to taste local food. Overnight at your hotel. Meals: D |
Day 2: ZAGREB – ROVINJ (WINE TASTING) – PULA – RIJEKA Breakfast and departure to Istria. First stop in Rovinj, a Croatian fishing port on the west coast of the Istrian peninsula. The old town stands on a headland, with houses tightly crowded down to the seafront. A tangle of cobbled streets and colorful houses leads to the hilltop church of St. Euphemia, whose towering steeple dominates the skyline. The Rovinj archipelago’s 14 islands lie immediately off the mainland. After visit in Rovinj enjoy wine tasting in one Istrian prestigious Winery. Lunch at a local restaurant to taste local food. In the afternoon continue to Pula, known for its multitude of ancient Roman buildings, the most famous of which is the Pula Arena, one of the best preserved Roman amphitheaters, and its beautiful sea. Lively old town where we will visit Gate of Hercules, Arch of the Sergil, City hall and Temple of Augustus. Finally reach your hotel, dinner at the hotel to taste local food and overnight. Day 3: RIJEKA – BUZET (TRUFFLE HUNT) – ZADAR Breakfast and departure to Buzet to enjoy unique experience, a Croatian Truffle Hunting Experience. Join Truffle hunting family, whose third generation is now hunting for truffles and learn more from truffles, the tradition of truffle hunting and their truffle hunting dogs. Unforgettable experience hunting with trained Dogs at Motovun forest to find truffles. Enjoy the tasting of truffle products and their home wines, prepared for you in beautiful surroundings. Lunch at a local restaurant to taste local food. After Truffle hunting experience, proceed to the pretty coastal city of Zadar. Head to the Sea Organ, an artistic and architectural installation located along the coastline, to hear the natural symphony made by tidal waves flowing through a series of tubes and holes underneath a set of large marble steps. Next to Sea Organ you will find the Monument to the Sun (Uniqe monument that lights up at night ). Continue the tour entering at old town passing by 12th-century St. Anastasia’s Cathedral and the round, 9th-century pre-Romanesque Church of St. Donatus. Day 4: ZADAR – TROGIR – KLIS (CROATIAN TYPICAL FARM & ETHNO VILLAGE) – SPLIT Breakfast and departure to Trogir, a town on the central Adriatic coast of Croatia. Its preserved old town, known for its mix of Renaissance, baroque and Romanesque buildings, lies on a small island connected to the mainland and the island of Čiovo by bridges. Inside of the old town we will find 13th-century Cathedral of St. Lawrence houses the Renaissance Chapel of St. John and offers sweeping views from its bell tower. Parts of the medieval city walls remain intact. After visit Trogir, continue to Split but first stop at Klis. At a local farm, take a tour through their production area, Mediterranean garden and ecological olive grove up to the ethno village where past and present create the most beautiful scenery for incredible experience of tasting all the best Dalmatian land has to offer. Enjoy a lunch with their own home-grown products and their own wine. Reach then finally Split and start the sightseeing sightseeing of Split with local guide. The city is the second largest city in Croatia and the largest at Dalmatia, its know for its beaches and vey rich history .The Diocletian Palace is an ancient palace built for the Roman Emperor Diocletian at the turn of the fourth century AD, that today forms about half the old town of Split, inside of the Diocletian palace we can visit the Temple of Jupiter and Cathedral of St Domnius. Day 5: SPLIT – STON (OYSTER FARM) – DUBROVNIK Breakfast and departure to Ston. Here enjoy a boat ride with a local oyster farmer to see how shells are being cleaned and farmed and help harvest your own lunch, so you will enjoy fresh Oyster tasting. After Oyster tasting, drive towards Dubrovnik. Start the city tour with local guide. This is the most visited city in Croatia, also known as the “Pearl of the Adriatic”. Be in awe as you set eyes on Dubrovnik with its orange-hued roofs, ancient city walls, marble streets and Baroque buildings. Discover the secrets and beauties of Dubrovnik, which is recorded on the list of UNESCO. The walls of Dubrovnik girdle a perfectly preserved complex of public and private, sacral and secular buildings representing all periods of the city’s history, beginning with its founding in the 7th century. Particular mention should be made of the city’s main street Stradun, the Rector’s Palace, the church of St. Vlaho, the Cathedral, three large monasteries and a City Hall. The Republic of Dubrovnik was the centre of political and territorial entity, and was proud of its culture, its achievements in commerce and especially of its freedom, preserved so many centuries.
