| Breakfast and departure to River Brenta, a natural continuation of the Grand Canal that offers a unique blend of history, culture, art and landscapes.. First stop is in Stra and visit Villa Pisani, called also the “Little Versailles”, built for the family of Doge Alvise Pisani in 1720. Here we will admire the frescoes, those in the ballroom by Tiepolo, and the park, with its pools, orangeries, stables and ice-house. This villa was once visited by Napoleon and was the setting of the historic meeting between Hitler and Mussolini in 1934. lunch on your own to taste local food. Board on a Burchiello, characteristic Veneto boat, and depart for a cruise on the Brenta River. Along the route, admire some of the most important villas by Palladio. Reach Villa Widmann, owned by the Province of Venice, including the main house with its garden and adjacent courtyard, the Barchessa arcade wing, the chapel and the vast park with its numerous 18th-century statues, many species of trees, birds and a lake. Continue to Villa Foscari, known as La Malcontenta and Palladio’s only villa still standing on the Brenta Riviera, protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994. The villa was given the name of La Malcontenta as a result of the confinement here of a noblewoman as a punishment for her infidelity. Back to your hotel. | Breakfast and departure to visit Venice. Begin your tour of Venice in St. Mark’s Square. Home to the magnificent St. Mark’s Basilica, Bell Tower and Doge’s Palace, this is the biggest piazza (public square) in Venice. Admire then St. Mark’s Basilica, one of the most visited landmarks in Venice. You will learn why it’s called “the Church of Gold”. Just a few minutes away from St. Mark’s Square is the Rialto Bridge, as much a symbol of Venice as St. Mark’s Basilica. Initially built from old boats, the unstable bridge was rebuilt in 1500. On one side of the bridge is the Rialto Market in the Rialto neighborhood, a place that’s been satisfying appetites for seven centuries. The oldest of the four bridges that span the Grand Canal, the Rialto Bridge features a 24-foot tall arch.
